Essential Oils for Emotional Balance & Immune Support {kid-safe}

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years to support the body in healing itself.  Oils have become quite popular over the last several years, and for good reason.  They are powerhouses for supporting total well-being - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

We use oils every day in our house.  I love that my children feel empowered to use the oils for themselves.  The following recipe is one that I use most often in our house.  My kids roll a dab of this on their wrists every morning before school.

I Am Healthy Essential Oil Blend {kid-safe}

*Note: Essential oils are powerful.  They need to be diluted, applied sparingly, and kept out of the reach of small children.  There are several oils that are not safe for children under 10.  The I Am Healthy blend only includes oils that are safe for younger children.

7 drops lemon essential oil
3 drops frankincense essential oil
2 drops spruce essential oil
5 drops melaleuca (tea tree) essential oil

Add oils to a 10ml roller bottle and fill remainder with carrier oil (we use fractionated coconut oil).  Also, you can decrease the drops to make a diffuser blend.

Emotions

One of the things I love most about essential oils is that they are good for so many things.  We aren’t just supporting our physical bodies, but we are supporting our emotional well-being, too!  Listed below are some of the emotional benefits to each of the oils.

Lemon
The aroma of lemon supports the body in releasing confusion, mental fatigue, lack of focus, lack of joy and energy, and guilt.  The aroma of lemon inspires joy and assists with learning.

Frankincense
The aroma of frankincense supports the body in releasing abandonment, vulnerability, and disconnection.

Spruce
The aroma of spruce supports the body in releasing instability, mood extremes, exhaustion, depletion, and feeling ungrounded.  Spruce is very stabilizing and grounding.

Melaleuca
The aroma of melaleuca supports the body in releasing codependent relationships, toxicity, and poor boundaries.  Melaleuca is empowering and helps a person stand up for themselves and drop feelings of responsibility for other’s problems.

*Above information comes from one of my favorite books, Emotional Healing with Essential Oils, by Daniel Macdonald.
